Vale of Clwyd MP Dr James Davies is keen to congratulate all those involved in organising the spectacular bank holiday events which took place in the area, attracting visitors from far and wide.
Both Rhyl and Prestatyn were buzzing over the August Bank Holiday weekend thanks to an array of well organised events which proved more popular than ever.
Rhyl Air Show returned after a two year break due to the pandemic and saw record numbers attend on both the Saturday and Sunday.
James, who attended the event with his family, said:
“The Rhyl Air Show was a massive success, and the main organisers, Denbighshire Leisure Ltd and Rhyl Town Council, deserve huge praise for putting on such a truly impressive event over the two days.
“It was wonderful to see the promenade packed and families enjoying the many displays in the sunshine. I have been attending Rhyl Air Show for years and must say this was the best to date.”
“I know Rhyl Air Show takes a phenomenal amount of planning and in my view, it could not have been done better. Jamie Groves and his team at Denbighshire Leisure, Rhyl Town Council, and everyone else involved in organising this event did Rhyl proud.”
James also attended Prestatyn’s Classic Car Show. He said:
“Whilst people flocked to Rhyl to see the planes, in Prestatyn the crowds gathered to enjoy the classic cars, with organiser Tim Williams once again putting on an impressive show featuring more than 300 vehicles.
“Like Rhyl Air Show, this popular event was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic, so it was great to see it back, bigger and better than ever. Once again Tim delighted visitors and already people are looking forward to next year’s show.”
James added:
“Prestatyn Rocks was also a success and, whilst I was unable to attend, I believe Dyserth’s Duck Race attracted many visitors too.
“It is great that locals and visitors had such a great choice of events to attend over the Bank Holiday Weekend and that the weather was kind. As MP for the Vale of Clwyd, I was extremely proud to see the area so vibrant, and I am grateful to all those who work so hard throughout the year to ensure that these events are a success. Roll on next August!”
