A Rhyl schoolgirl has won tickets to SC2 for designing the official Christmas card for Vale of Clwyd MP Dr James Davies.
The theme for the design was 'Christmas in the Vale of Clwyd'. Ysgol Llywelyn pupil Emilia Macoirowska, 10, beat off tough competition from over 400 school children across the constituency with her design of Santa and his reindeer dropping off presents at Rhuddlan Castle.
James visited Emilia at her school this week to award her with her prize, which also included a bag of crafts.
He said:
“I was extremely impressed by the standard of all the entries and choosing just one winner was not an easy task. Emilia’s colourful design stood out to me and my team as it truly depicts what Christmas is all about for children, featuring Santa and presents!
“She had clearly put in a great deal of effort and I am sure that everyone who receives the card will appreciate her artistic talent.
“I would like to thank Emilia and all the other children who entered the competition for the fantastic designs and also their teachers and parents for helping submit the entries. I would also like to thank the sponsors of my card this year (Second Chance, Rhyl, Harker’s Amusements, Morgan’s Hair & Beauy, Qioptiq, HCA, Prestatyn, Flower Tops, Rhyl, Now to Bed, Prestatyn, Cookhouse, Prestatyn, Phoenix Optical Technologies Ltd). Christmas wishes to you all.
