Vale of Clwyd MP Dr James Davies, who encouraged organisations in the constituency to apply for UK Government Community Renewal Fund (CRF) grants, is delighted that 14 applications have been successful in Denbighshire, totalling £2.9m.
The Community Renewal Fund has been introduced by the Government for 2021/22 to support people and communities most in need across the UK.
James and his office worked hard to advertise the CRF and to encourage people in Denbighshire to apply. The County Council also put in significant resources and time to the process. He is therefore extremely pleased that all but one of the total 15 applications from the county were successful.
He said:
“The fund is designed to support investment in local job creation, training opportunities, and infrastructure improvements and act as a replacement for previous European Union Structural Funding.
“It will help support local areas to pilot imaginative new approaches and programmes that unleash their potential, instil pride, and prepare them to take full advantage of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund when it launches in 2022.
“I knew that there were many who would benefit greatly from this funding and was therefore active in promoting it in the constituency. I was pleased that so many took the opportunity to apply, and I am thrilled that 14 of those applications have been successful.
“This funding will be extremely beneficial to the area and I congratulate all successful applicants.”
