Vale of Clwyd MP Dr James Davies is calling on local businesses impacted by the rapid spread of the Omicron virus to check if they are eligible for emergency financial support.
The Emergency Business Fund is available for retail, hospitality, leisure and tourism business, and their supply chains, affected at the time when there was a move up to alert level 2.
There are different amounts of funding available depending on whether a business is liable for Non Domestic Rates.
James is keen to ensure that all eligible businesses throughout Denbighshire receive this new funding and is therefore concerned that Denbighshire County Council have identified businesses which may be eligible, but have not yet applied.
As a result, he is calling on businesses to look in to whether they meet the required criteria.
He said:
“The spread of the Omicron virus certainly hit businesses hard, and I am therefore incredibly pleased that this support is available.
“I am concerned however that a number of businesses that may be eligible, have not yet applied.
“They may be able to receive £2,000, £4,000 or £6,000, which is a lot of money to miss out on.
"There are not automatic pay outs this time, businesses do need to apply themselves.
"I therefore urge businesses to visit the link below to check eligibility and to submit their applications before the cutoff date of Monday February 14th 2022."
Applicants will receive an email telling them whether they have been successful or not within 30 days of applying.
