Vale of Clwyd MP Dr James Davies is encouraging young people keen to gain an understanding and insight into the exciting world of aerospace to register for a free work experience programme at Airbus.
Airbus Virtual Work Experience is aimed at students between the ages of 14-19 and is taking place from 4-15 July. Anyone can register to join and registrations close on 29 June.
The purpose of this activity is to encourage and inspire students to consider studying STEM subjects, as well as giving them an understanding and insight into the world of aerospace and the career opportunities this could lead to.
James said:
"This is a fantastic opportunity for young people in the area. Last year over 4,000 students joined the event online and the feedback Airbus received from those that took part was extremely positive.
"Investment in future skills is crucial to Airbus, with them taking on more than 1,000 early careers (apprentices, interns and graduates) in 2021 and that number increasing this year. Prior to Covid, they attended and ran hundreds of STEM activities in schools and have just restarted these activities.
"I am delighted that Airbus are making their work experience progress so accessible and encourage young people in the Vale of Clwyd to sign up."
