Vale of Clwyd MP Dr James Davies is encouraging people to support a youth led theatre company based in Rhyl after meeting cast members minutes before their opening performance of ‘Sister Act’ at Rhyl Little Theatre last night.
The Phoenix Performers are a non-for-profit youth theatre company and for over 15 years have been providing weekly sessions and workshops in all aspects of the performing arts.
Last night they took to the stage for their latest production, ‘Sister Act’, and James was pleased to have the opportunity to wish them all luck before the curtain was raised.
He said:
“It was an absolute pleasure to go back-stage before their opening performance to meet the cast and to wish them all luck. Spirits were high and there was little sign of nerves.
“I am extremely proud to have such a talented group of young people in my constituency. They have put in many hours of rehearsals for this production and I applaud them all for their commitment and hard work. The skills and qualities they have acquired from being part of Phoenix Performance will undoubtedly stand them in good stead for whatever they choose to do in the future.
“There will be further performances today and I encourage anyone who enjoys a good musical to support this local group and book your tickets now. This can be done by visiting the Phoenix Performers website at https://www.phoenixperformers.com.
"The two remaining performances will take place today, Saturday November 11th, at 3pm and 7:30pm."
