Vale of Clwyd MP Dr James Davies opened his constituency office doors today to welcome guests to a Macmillan Coffee Morning.
Macmillan Coffee Morning is the charity’s biggest fundraising event to support people living with cancer.
People all over the UK host their own Coffee Mornings and donations raised on the day are made to Macmillan.
James’s event raised a total of £220.85.
Commenting afterwards he said:
“Macmillan Cancer Support do incredible work and I am always keen to support them in any way that I can.
“The coffee morning was a great success. It was nice to take a break from my hectic schedule to enjoy a cuppa, a slice of cake, and a catch up with all those who attended, particularly knowing that we were raising vital funds to help people living with cancer to live as fully as they can.
“Cancer touches the lives of so many of us, whether personally, or through supporting friends, families and colleagues with a cancer diagnosis. We know that one in two of us will get cancer. It is therefore imperative that the support is available to ensure no-one faces cancer alone.
“From the moment of diagnosis, Macmillan are on hand for people with cancer. Their help is totally focused on each individual person, so everyone receives the support that’s best for them. In 2022 Macmillan Support Line service supported 181 people in Denbighshire.“
He added:
“I would like to thank everyone who attended my coffee morning and gave so generously.
“I would also like to thank those who made the abundance of delicious cakes - we certainly have some talented bakers in the Vale of Clwyd!”
