Commenting on today's news that Liz Truss has resigned as UK Prime Minister, Vale of Clwyd MP Dr James Davies said:
“A positive future for Britain depends on building a stronger, more productive economy. While this was the aim of Liz Truss, it is clear that her approach – the mini budget – proved the wrong plan at this time of international economic instability and the European energy crisis. Accordingly, it was right for her to resign.
“I maintain my focus on working for constituents in the Vale of Clwyd and look forward to a new leader being in place within the next week. The implementation of the 2019 General Election manifesto, relative to the economic situation, must be the priority of the Government with immediate effect.”
