Vale of Clwyd MP Dr James Davies is encouraging residents to take advantage of a new bus ticket which will enable people to travel all over North Wales for one fare.
The new ticket, '1 bws' was launched last month as a result of partnership working between bus operators and local authorities in North Wales.
The ticket is bought from the driver on the first bus of the day and it is then valid for travel for the rest of the day on every service bus in North Wales whoever the operator may be. The ticket costs £5:70 for an adult, £3:70 for a child or young person, and £12:00 for a family.
James said:
"With our roads often congested and increasing concerns over climate change, I welcome any actions to encourage more people to use public transport.
"This new ticket makes it much simpler to get around North Wales by bus and I hope it convinces more people to leave their cars at home and to hop on the bus instead.
"It may take slightly longer to get around on a bus compared to a car, but travelling by bus can be less stressful, and enables you to sit back and take in the wonderful scenery of North Wales.
"I think the £12 ticket for a family of four is particularly good value and I hope more parents consider travelling by bus when planning a day out in North Wales.
"I wish to thank all the local authorities and bus operators in North Wales for coming together to create this ticket and encourage people to use it."
To raise awareness of the ticket, a launch event is being held at 10:30 hrs on 24th August at Rhyl Arena.
