Vale of Clwyd MP Dr James Davies came under the spotlight on Friday when he was questioned by a group of students who will be joining him in Parliament this week.
James visited Prestatyn High School to meet with Sixth Form pupils studying Public Services.
The young people questioned him on the various elements of the creation of legislation, and also asked him about his ambitions for the local area.
James said:
“It was a real pleasure to meet these young people who showed a keen interest in legislation and politics and asked some great questions.
“I am looking forward to welcoming a group of 20 of them in Parliament this week when they will also be visiting the Education Centre to learn more about the UK political system and democracy”.
James told the students that his key focus areas are Health, Infrastructure and Regeneration – along with supporting residents with the specific improvements and concerns in their communities.
During his visit to the school, he also met with Head Teacher Neil Foley, and received a guided tour of the building.
James added:
“Prestatyn High is a fantastic school and I enjoyed being shown around the various departments, however, like a lot of secondary schools in Wales, it has its challenges and I was told about the need for investment in new school buildings.
“Although education is a devolved matter, I will do all that I can to support the fantastic staff at Prestatyn High School in securing the funding they require to ensure that both they, and the pupils, have the best facilities to reach their potential”.
