Vale of Clwyd MP Dr James Davies took part in a number of events last week to mark UK Parliament Week.
The annual event, which this year was held from 14-20 November, spreads the word about what Parliament is, what it does and how people can have their voices heard.
To celebrate the event in the Vale of Clwyd, James spoke to and answered questions with Years 5 and 6 at Ysgol Penmorfa, Prestatyn, took questions from the school council at Ysgol Emmanuel in Rhyl, and welcomed constituents to his office for a cuppa and cake.
Speaking afterwards, he said:
“UK Parliament Week is a great opportunity for citizens of all ages to get informed about how they can engage with UK Parliament to make a difference.
“Every year it’s fantastic to see so many people actively take part in UK Parliament Week and I was pleased to be able engage with a wide range of age groups this year in the Vale of Clwyd.
“I am determined to ensure that our voters and citizens of tomorrow understand how vital their participation is in our democracy, and UK Parliament Week is a great way of educating people.
“The children at both Ysgol Penmorfa and Ysgol Emmanuel showed a keen interest in UK politics and I was very impressed by the high standard of questions they fired at me. I also stayed on to attend a meeting between the school council and the county council over safety on Victoria Road, outside their school. It was a real pleasure to visit both schools.
“It was also a pleasure to welcome constituents to my office on Friday morning for a chat over a cuppa. The turn-out was excellent and I thank everyone who attended and celebrated UK Parliament Week with me and my team.”
