Vale of Clwyd MP, Dr James Davies and Member of the Welsh Youth Parliament for the Vale of Clwyd, Jonathon Dawes have come together to launch a new campaign to acknowledge those who have carried out selfless acts during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Both James and Jonathon have been impressed by the number of community champions in the Vale of Clwyd who have turned out to help others during this crisis and are keen that their heroic efforts are recognised.
They have therefore launched a campaign encouraging people to nominate those they believe “have gone above and beyond for their community” in the constituency during the Covid-19 pandemic.
James said:
“I am extremely proud of the way in which communities have pulled together across the Vale of Clwyd since the outbreak of Covid in the UK.
“There have been some truly incredible acts of kindness, and Jonathon and myself are keen to ensure that there is some kind of recognition for those responsible.
“Over the coming weeks, we plan to highlight a number of community champions, and will announce these across our social media sites. They will also receive a certificate to mark their much appreciated efforts."
Jonathon said:
“I am absolutely delighted to be teaming up with Vale of Clwyd MP Dr James Davies to release the Vale of Clwyd Local Unsung Hero Awards.
“Since the outbreak of COVID-19, we have seen communities come together like never before. So many individuals and organisations have shown selflessness, bravery and kindness towards others and I am looking forward to working with James to reward and recognise these incredible stories in the Vale of Clwyd.”
If you know someone who has gone above and beyond to help others during this pandemic, whether that be helping an elderly neighbour or a thoughtful gesture to help keep spirits up, then please take a moment to nominate them by emailing [email protected]
