Vale of Clwyd MP Dr James Davies recently welcomed a group of Rhyl school pupils to Parliament.
James spent time with the group from Ysgol Bryn Hedydd during their visit to the House of Commons and House of Lords.
The youngsters were in London for a three-day trip which included visits to some of the capital city’s most famous attractions, including the Royal Albert Hall and Kensington Palace.
During their visit to Parliament, they questioned James about his role as a Member of Parliament and about UK politics in general.
Speaking afterwards, James said:
“It is always a real pleasure to welcome schools from the Vale of Clwyd to Parliament and I am delighted that Ysgol Bryn Hedydd were able to visit during their three days in London.
“I enjoyed spending time with such polite, enthusiastic young people. They showed a keen interest in politics and asked me some excellent questions.
"Youngsters from Ysgol Llywelyn in Rhyl also recently visited Parliament, but unfortunately I was on a Ministerial visit to South Wales on the day so was unable to meet them. However, I have written to those who attended.”
James added:
“It is vital that children learn about politics, as the decisions which our government take today will affect their future.
“I am therefore always happy to visit schools in the constituency to engage with our young people, or to help arrange for them to visit me in Parliament.
"Visiting the UK Parliament Education Centre, young people can enjoy a unique learning experience and get to see history being made first-hand with a tour of the Houses of Parliament.
“The fun, interactive sessions are available in-person and online for education groups of all ages, and are tailored to the UK’s four curriculums.
