Vale of Clwyd MP Dr James Davies has praised the work of the 2,177 volunteers in Vale of Clwyd in Volunteers' Week and is encouraging others to consider volunteering their time to help their local community.
Volunteers’ Week is the annual celebration of the contribution millions of people make across the UK through volunteering in their communities.
Charity Commission data highlights that there are 2177 volunteers working in the constituency of Vale of Clwyd, and many more throughout the country. The work of volunteers is vital in allowing local charities to make a difference in their community, the voluntary sector and society as a whole.
Volunteers are at the heart of the charity sector, offering their time and energy to help those in need. This includes charity trustees—most of whom are volunteers. The Charity Commission offers a wide array of guidance and support to help trustees run their charities well so they can improve lives and strengthen society.
James said: “I have been privileged to visit many outstanding charities in Vale of Clwyd, all of which rely on the dedication of volunteers. I want to thank all those who are giving up their time to support our local charities and congratulate them on everything they are doing to help these great organisations thrive.
