Vale of Clwyd MP Dr James Davies has welcomed news that Citizens Advice Denbighshire has been awarded a grant of over £100,000 from the Access to Justice Foundation on behalf of the Ministry of Justice.
It was announced this week that they have been awarded an Improving Outcomes Through Legal Support grant of £105,055.00.
In March 2023 the Ministry of Justice announced a new £10.4m Improving Outcomes Through Legal Support grant. This grant runs from July 2023 until March 2025 and is being administered by the Access to Justice Foundation on behalf of the Ministry of Justice.
Welcoming the news, James said:
“Citizens Advice Denbighshire have two branches in the Vale of Clwyd, in Rhyl and Denbigh, providing invaluable advice and support to my constituents. I was therefore extremely pleased to hear that they are one of 59 organisations across England and Wales who have been awarded an Improving Outcomes Through Legal Support grant, enabling them to continue to provide early legal support and advice to help people resolve their legal problems.
“The grants build on the success of previous legal support grants, with a greater emphasis on data and evidence collection and the provision of at-court support.
“Organisations will provide a range of support services, from early intervention to enable individuals to resolve their problems as early as possible, to support at-court for those who need it. Just under £2m of the grant funding has been allocated to organisations providing at-court support.
“The Ministry of Justice values the essential work carried out by organisations providing early legal support and advice, which is why since 2015 the department has invested over £25m to support the sector. This new funding will continue to support people experiencing legal problems to resolve them as early as possible.”
