Vale of Clwyd MP Dr James Davies has welcomed progress which is being made on the former Kwik Save warehouses on Warren Drive.
The site, entitled 'Prestatyn Business Park', has been stripped out; it is being transformed into a space for employment use.
James said:
"Following the initial works to remove the roof earlier this year, contractors returned to site in late June to commence the partial demolition works. Liaison is ongoing with Network Rail due to the close proximity of the North Wales mainline and it is hoped the work will be complete by spring 2024.
"The development, entitled 'Prestatyn Business Park', is due to provide a couple of dozen much needed small industrial and office units and tidy up a site which has been an eyesore for many years."
Cllr Anton Sampson said: "As ward councillor, with Julian Thompson-Hill, we're pleased that a potentially dangerous site has now been cleared and is now in the throws of being given a new lease of life as business units.
"As well as being less of an eyesore to residents, this will also bring economic benefits to our town.
"I look forward to meeting up with the new business owners as they arrive and offering my support.
"When Kwik Save closed the warehouses and offices we lost a major employer in the area. Hopefully we can address the balance."
The buildings have been empty since the supermarket chain left in 1998.
The site became an eyesore and over the last decade, has attracted seagulls and vandals.
