Vale of Clwyd MP Dr James Davies officially cut the ribbon at a new furniture store in Prestatyn town centre last week.
Prestatyn Furniture sells a variety of mid-range furniture and carpets and is based on the High Street at the former Home Bargains/Woolworths premises.
It has been opened by local couple Andy and Alison Hughes of Dyserth.
Welcoming the new business to the town, James said:
“It is always great to see new businesses investing in the area, and I was very pleased to carry out the official opening for this new store last Thursday.
“Andy and Alison have vast experience of running a furniture shop, having operated ‘Coast Road Furniture’ in Deeside since 1972.
"The new store sells a wide variety of quality furniture for all rooms of the home, as well as carpets.
“They are in a prominent spot on the High Street and I am confident that with their many years of experience in this business, they will thrive in Prestatyn.
“I thank Andy and Alison for choosing Prestatyn for their latest venture and I encourage people to visit the new store.”
Andy said:
“Being from the local area, we are very pleased to have opened our new furniture shop in Prestatyn.
“We opened Coast Road Furniture in Deeside in 1972 and that has been a very successful company, but we were looking for a new challenge when we noticed that this building had become available in Prestatyn.
“We had a soft opening last Thursday, but opened properly on Saturday. It was Bank Holiday weekend and there was a lot going on in the town, so we were extremely busy which was a great start.
“We offer a wide selection of furniture for the home, from beds to dining tables, and also have a good selection of flooring.
“I think our success in Deeside has been down to the fact that what we sell is quality but at an affordable price.
“We have employed five full-time staff from the local area and are really looking forward to serving the people of Prestatyn, Rhyl and the surrounding areas with fine furniture and flooring.”
