Dr James Davies, MP for Vale of Clwyd, recently visited the Maximus office in Rhyl to meet local participants and learn more about the team’s work delivering specialised employment support in his constituency.
The Rhyl team, based at Clwyd Chambers, have provided employment and skills support to nearly 1,500 people since 2021. Through UK Government-funded programmes, the team offer support for groups typically disadvantaged in the labour market, including those who have a health condition or disability, the long-term unemployed and ex-offenders.
During the visit, Dr Davies met with local employers and discussed the changing local labour market, including the continued recovery of the leisure and tourism sectors.
He also heard about the recent launch of Work and Health Programme Pioneer, new employment support that is open to people who are not currently being supported by Jobcentre Plus or are economically inactive. This could include young people leaving college or older workers looking to re-enter the workforce.

Maximus delivery in Rhyl is underpinned by the Community Partnership Network (CPN), which utilises the skills and expertise of dozens of local organisations in the public, private and third sectors to integrate and align services for jobseekers.
