Vale of Clwyd MP Dr James Davies has welcomed news that a Covid-19 testing centre has opened in Denbigh.
Residents of the town and surrounding areas can now access a test faster and easier following the opening of the new centre yesterday (January 6th).
The facility is based in the car park at the council offices at Caledfryn and will operate between 9.30am and 3.30pm with no appointments necessary, but the walk in / drive through session is open to those with symptoms that need a test.
Welcoming the new centre, James said:
“It is reassuring news that people in Denbigh and the surrounding areas now have easier access to testing and will no longer need to travel to neighbouring towns.
“This expansion of testing supports the existing National Testing Programme infrastructure, which has greatly increased its testing capacity since the coronavirus pandemic began.
“I urge anyone displaying any signs of Covid to visit the centre and get tested. With no appointment necessary, the process couldn’t be simpler.”
The testing centre is being operated in partnership between Public Health Wales, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust and Denbighshire County Council and replaces the testing site at Market Street Car Park, Llangollen, which closed on January 3.
