Vale of Clwyd MP Dr James Davies called for North Wales Police to take a firm line on crime and outlined key areas for targeting when he recently met the Chief Constable of the Force.
James had an introductory meeting with the Chief Constable Carl Foulkes to discuss North Wales Police priorities and to highlight the key crime issues facing the constituency.
James said:
“It was a very productive meeting, providing me with the opportunity to highlight constituents' concerns regarding crime across the Vale of Clwyd and to outline the action I would like to see moving forward.
“I emphasised the need for a firm line to be taken in areas in the constituency where overlooking antisocial behaviour has sometimes become commonplace. I also raised the recent spate of car and vehicle thefts and praised the recent work on county lines. I emphasised the need for more to be done to ensure vulnerable people are not exploited and that criminals are stopped from operating in our towns.
“We discussed drug problems across the constituency and I told the Chief Constable that a firmer stance is crucial if we are to get this problem under better control.
“I also raised the need for a police base in Prestatyn town centre and called for more officers to be located in Rhyl Town Centre.
“I am very grateful to the Chief Constable for meeting me and listening to the concerns I put forward. I hope this is the start of a positive working relationship between North Wales Police and myself whereby I can work closely to help ensure that our communities are a safe place for all”.
