Vale of Clwyd MP Dr James Davies met up with a group of school children from the constituency when they visited the Houses of Parliament last week.
Children and staff from St Asaph’s Ysgol Esgob Morgan made the trip to London to learn more about politics and the UK Government.
James was pleased to welcome the group to his place of work and to talk to them about his role as a Member of Parliament – as well as the 30 individual emails the Year 4 pupils recently sent him regarding dog fouling in the town.
He said:
“It was a real pleasure to welcome the children and staff from Ysgol Esgob Morgan to Parliament and to explain to them how politics works at UK level. They showed a keen interest in politics and current affairs and seemed to really enjoy being shown around Parliament and learning about how everything works here.
“We also had a chat about how I can work with them to help tackle the dog fouling problem in St Asaph, which they described to me so graphically in their individuals emails!
“Our young people are our future and it is vital that we engage them in politics at a young age and these trips are a great way of doing that.
“I hope the group enjoyed their time here, and who knows, their visit may have inspired some of them to consider entering the political world themselves in the future!”
