Vale of Clwyd MP Dr James Davies has congratulated a Rhuddlan caravan and camping park on receiving a prestigious industry award.
James visited Abbey Farm last week to commend owners Rob and Celia Williams, who were recently awarded a Visit Wales ‘Gwobr Aur - Gold Award’. This acknowledges exceptional quality and facilities at their caravan and camping park, which they have recently expanded with the addition of three beautifully handcrafted ensuite glamping pods.
James said:
“What Rob and Celia have created at Abbey Farm really is something quite special.
“Their caravan and camping park is in an incredible location with views over the Clwydian mountain range and I am not surprised visitors are flocking here.
“Not only are their first class facilities helping to put Rhuddlan on the map – they are providing a boost to local businesses and the North Wales economy in general.
“The award they have received is very well deserved and I wish them continued success moving forward.”
Celia, who having enjoyed a successful career in the Construction Industry, hung up her suits for wellies to help Rob on the farm and to expand the caravan and camping park in 2020, said:
“We are thrilled to have been awarded a Visit Wales ‘Gwobr Aur - Gold Award’ for exceptional quality and facilities, particularly as we are one of only a handful of glamping sites to have been awarded this accolade in Wales!
“We are a small, quiet and peaceful site that is ideal for couples and young families who want to enjoy time together.
“Where we are located is the perfect place to relax and unwind and our three beautifully handcrafted ensuite glamping pods provide a real luxury experience.
“We have great feedback with visitors returning time and time again.”
Rob, who is a candidate in this Thursday’s local elections and is hoping to gain a seat on Rhuddlan Town Council, added:
“Our family have been farming here for over 100 years, with myself being the fourth generation. We are a busy working farm, but it has been great to develop the caravan and camping park.
“The success of the park is also benefitting local businesses in the village. When we are busy, they are inevitably busy with our guests spending money locally.
“I am delighted we have received this award, which really helps set us apart from the rest, and look forward to guests old and new visiting and enjoying all our quality facilities, which include a new luxury toilet and shower block.
“It was great to welcome James and show him what we provide.”
