Vale of Clwyd MP Dr James Davies has welcomed news that free events are to be held in Rhyl to offer guidance for residents who are thinking about starting up a business in the county - thanks to UK Government funding.
Made possible by the Community Renewal Fund (CRF), the workshops being provided by Denbighshire County Council are free to attend for anyone in or out of employment, with no obligation to sign up to anything.
James said:
“The Community Renewal Fund was introduced by the UK Government for 2021/22 to support people and communities most in need across the UK and I was delighted last November, having encouraged organisations in the Vale of Clwyd to apply for CRF grants, that 14 applications in Denbighshire were successful, totalling £2.9m. Denbighshire County Council - Economic Empowerment Project, was one of the successful projects and I am pleased that they are able to provide these workshops in Rhyl as a result of this funding.
“The CRF was designed to support investment in local job creation, training opportunities, and infrastructure improvements and is a precursor to the Shared Prosperity Fund (SPF), which will act as a replacement for previous European Union Structural Funding.
“Starting a business can be a minefield, so having these specialised workshops will be extremely beneficial to anyone considering it, providing them with advice and guidance about the industry and how to utilize the skills they already have.”
The events will be held at Costigans Co Working Hub, with guest speakers in attendance to share their success stories and provide tips about how they got to where they are now.
Two sessions are being run over the course of two days.
• Wednesday afternoon on 6 and 13 July, 2:30pm to 4:30pm
• Wednesday evening on 6 and 13 July, 5:30pm to 7.30pm
Those wishing to attend must sign up before the event via - https://www.denbighshire.gov.uk/en/jobs-and-employees/forms/exploring-enterprise-workshop-signup.aspx .
