Dr James Davies MP is sending back to school good wishes to all primary and secondary school pupils in the Vale of Clwyd and wishing those starting GCSE, A Level, vocational and degree courses the best of luck.
The start of the new school year can be an exciting time, but for those going to school for the first time, moving up to secondary school, or starting college or university, it can be also be a daunting time.
James is therefore keen to wish all pupils and students in Denbighshire a good start to the new academic year.
He said:
“It can be difficult starting or returning to school, college or university after the long summer break for both the pupil or student and their parents, so I wish them all well with the transition.
“Whilst we all enjoy the freedom of summer, routine and a good education is vital to the future success of our children and young people.
“I was very pleased by the GCSE and A-Level results that were achieved in Denbighshire this year and congratulate all pupils, as well as the headteachers, teachers and support staff who work so hard to help ensure pupils get the results they need to progress.
“It was very good to see so many success stories throughout the Vale of Clwyd and these students will now be moving on to the next stage in their education.
“I encourage them to stay focused on their end goal. Studying can be difficult, but hard work really does pay off in the long run.
“If the pressures of studying and exams gets too much, I urge them to speak to someone, whether that be a friend, teacher, lecturer, parent or other family member.
“We are very fortunate in Denbighshire to have good schools with teaching staff who go above and beyond. It has been extremely difficult for pupils and teachers over the past two years due to the disruption to education caused by the pandemic, but fortunately we are now living again in more normal times and the school experience should hopefully be a good one for all concerned.”
